Privacy Policy

Overview

DialogDrive is a Chrome extension for saving and reusing AI prompts and chat bookmarks. We collect as little as possible and keep it local by default.

Data collection

What we store (on your device)

• Prompts & text you create, save, or import
• Chat bookmarks (URLs and optional titles/tags)
• Usage counters for your own library (local only)
• Settings & preferences for the extension

What we never collect

• Personal info (name, email, identifiers)
• Chat content unless you choose to save it
• Browsing history outside supported pages
• Third‑party analytics, ads, or trackers
• API keys: none are collected or stored

Storage & sync

• Your library lives in Chrome’s chrome.storage.local on your device.
• Lightweight preferences may use chrome.storage.sync. If Chrome Sync is enabled, Google may replicate those preferences across your signed‑in profiles.
• Clear data: Use Clear Local Data to delete local storage and request deletion of synced preferences.
• No cloud by us: DialogDrive does not operate servers that store your prompts, bookmarks, or settings.

How your data is used

• To display, search, and organize your library
• To remember your preferences
• To enable export/import for backup or migration

Permissions

Core permissions

• storage: saves your library and settings
• activeTab: briefly accesses the active tab to paste or capture (no broad page access)
• clipboardWrite: copies prompts to your clipboard
• contextMenus: enables right-click capture and paste
• notifications: confirms actions
• sidePanel: keeps a persistent workspace panel available

Host permissions

• chatgpt.com only, to support paste and capture controls. We do not inject into or access other domains.

Security

• We request the minimum permissions needed for features.
• No DialogDrive‑run cloud storage of your library.
• Input handling and defensive checks to reduce risk.

Your controls

• Export your library as JSON
• Edit or delete items at any time
• Clear all local data from settings
• Uninstall to remove local storage

Third‑party services

DialogDrive interacts with chatgpt.com only when you use capture or paste features. We do not send data to OpenAI or other third parties beyond what your browser normally does when loading that site.

Retention

Your data stays in local storage until you delete it or uninstall the extension.

Minors

DialogDrive is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We may update this page. Material changes will be noted in release notes and reflected here with a new date.
